Our official due date is now only 12 days away. Last week Monday, we found out that Little Miss Stensaas likes looking at the world right side up. Yes, our baby is breech. She's got her head up under my left lung, her tookus in my right pelvis and her feet sticking out into my left pelvis. She's basically in a V shape, doing a prolonged toe touch.
We held out hope that she would turn on her own but she didn't so on Monday we tried moving her by going to the hospital and doing a version. She would have nothing to do with that. The doctor got her to move a little but she went straight back to where she likes it - right by Mommy's heart.
Today, we've got a doctor's appointment to discuss the options but it's looking like a scheduled C-section. It seems odd to know her birth day before it actually comes.
Thankfully, I've been getting lots of good advice about C-sections and what to do. One of my friends was saying that her baby was breech and every time they unswaddled her, her little legs would go back up by her head like a trap. I had to laugh at that.
In her world, she's ready to come out since all systems are developed enough to work on the outside. She's roughly the size of a watermelon according to the fruit-o-meter. Our nurse predicted somewhere between 8 and 8 1/2 pounds.
In our world, the house is ready for her. We still need to get her carseat in the car. I'm finishing preparations at school to hand off my students for six weeks and Brian's looking at the Wild and Wolves schedules. Almost ready! Now we can't wait just to meet her.
Stay tuned for more info...
